Working with longer documents

 

Skills needed: This is an intermediate level workshop and attendees should be reasonably confident users of Word and generally familiar with the ribbon tabs.

 

Requirements: Attendees must have their own laptop/computer (not Tablet) with full Microsoft Word, version 2007 or higher. (To check version, open a document, click on File then Account). Please inform us if you will be using a Mac computer.

 

Skills introduced: page setup; page & section breaks; creating and modifying outlines & heading styles; applying numbering and multi-level lists; citing sources and references; inserting endnotes, footnotes & cross-references; creating a table of contents & index; inserting images & captions; creating a bibliography.

 

The workshop is interactive, and attendees will get hands-on experiences transforming a longer document containing only text to a professional looking one containing the above features. Raw data to work with and useful summary notes will be provided.

This two hour workshop is offered at the Taranaki Chamber of Commerce's training room from time to time and is also available for individual businesses and can be adapted to suit their needs.
